Mine is operated by Mine LLC (“Mine,” “we,” “us”). This policy explains how we handle information when you use the Mine iOS app, its sharing services, and our support channels.
Questions or privacy requests: info@myfeedismine.com or myfeedismine.com/contact.
Your personal photo feed
Mine builds your personal feed on your device using the photos and videos you allow it to access through Apple Photos. Giving Mine access to your library does not upload your entire library to Mine’s servers.
On your device, Mine uses information such as photo identifiers, dates, media types, favorites, and viewing history to organize and display your feed. Apple Photos may download originals from iCloud when needed, depending on your Apple settings. Your device and iCloud backup settings may also affect how local app data is backed up by Apple.
Some photos contain location information. To display a place name, Mine may send coordinates already associated with a photo to Apple’s mapping or geocoding services. This does not give Mine continuous access to your device’s current location, and Mine does not store those coordinates in its sharing database.
Information used for accounts and sharing
You can use your personal photo feed without creating a Mine sharing account. If you sign in or use sharing features, we process:
- Account information: your account identifier, display name, username, email address when provided, and information needed to authenticate you through Sign in with Apple or an email sign-in code. Apple may provide a private relay email address. Mine does not receive your Apple Account password.
- Content you share: selected photos and videos, thumbnails, messages, and associated information such as the original capture date, media format and dimensions, sender, recipients, conversation, and sharing-link identifiers.
- Sharing activity and preferences: connection requests, group membership, reactions, message read state, shared-feed delivery and viewing state, and your resharing and blocking settings.
- Notification information: an Apple push-notification token and delivery information needed to send notifications to your device. Notifications can contain a sender’s name and message preview.
- Reports and support information: information you submit when reporting content or contacting us, including your contact details, report reason, explanation, and identifiers for the relevant account, message, or memory.
- Technical information: information processed by our service providers to operate and secure network services, which can include IP addresses, request times, device or browser information, and error or delivery logs.
Opening the sharing sheet for a selected memory may start preparing and uploading that memory so a preview or sharing link is ready. This can happen before you finish sending it. Mine attempts to cancel unused sharing preparations when you dismiss them; cleanup can be delayed by interruptions or network failures. Copies prepared for unfinished uploads may remain on your device so the upload can be retried.
Mine re-encodes shared photos and applies Apple’s sharing metadata filter to exported videos. It retains the original capture date separately for display. The visible or audible content of a memory can itself reveal personal information, regardless of its file metadata.
How we use information
We use information to provide your feed and sharing features, authenticate accounts, deliver messages and memories, manage connections and groups, honor preferences, send notifications, recover interrupted transfers, provide support, investigate reports, prevent abuse, and maintain the service’s security and reliability.
Mine does not sell personal information, use it for targeted advertising, or track you across other companies’ apps and websites for advertising. We do not use your photo library or shared content to train AI models.
Who can access shared information
Your display name and relevant profile information are shown to people you interact with through Mine’s connection and sharing features. Messages and memories sent to a conversation are available to its authorized participants.
A sharing link is accessible to anyone who has the link, including someone without a Mine account. Its preview can include the memory, your display name, and the original capture date. Other people can pass the link on. Public memory links currently expire 30 days after the underlying shared-memory record is created. Expiration stops access through that public link; it does not automatically delete the memory from existing conversations or from our storage.
Your resharing setting controls the forwarding functionality provided by Mine. It cannot prevent someone from taking a screenshot, recording content, or passing on a link or copy they already have.
Sharing is not end-to-end encrypted. Authorized service personnel and providers may access stored sharing information as needed to operate the service, provide support, investigate abuse, or meet legal obligations. This does not give us access to the rest of your Photos library.
Service providers and other disclosures
We use service providers to deliver Mine, including:
- Account and identity providers for sign-in, authentication, and account recovery.
- Hosting, database, and storage providers for account data, shared media, and conversation history.
- Network and content-delivery providers for sharing-link delivery and associated network services.
- Apple for Sign in with Apple, push notifications, Photos and iCloud functionality, and place-name lookup through Apple’s system services.
- Website and email service providers to operate our contact channels and process support communications.
We identify the providers behind these categories by role rather than by name. Providers processing personal information on our behalf are required to protect it consistently with this policy and to use it for the services they provide to us, and we can describe these categories, and the safeguards that apply to them, in more detail on request. Apple’s own services are also subject to Apple’s privacy notices and your Apple settings.
Information may be processed in countries other than the country where you live. Where applicable, transfers are subject to the safeguards required by data-protection law and our arrangements with service providers.
We may disclose information when necessary to comply with a valid legal obligation, respond to lawful requests, protect people’s safety, or investigate fraud, security incidents, or abuse.
Retention and deletion
Local feed information remains on your device as needed for the app to operate. You can change Photos access in iOS Settings or remove the app to remove its local app data, subject to any device backups managed by Apple. Revoking Photos access does not delete content you already uploaded to Mine.
Account information, messages, shared media, connections, and sharing activity are retained to provide your account and conversation history until removed through an applicable deletion process. Public-link expiration and signing out are not account deletion. Signing out pauses your queued shares on that device; they can resume when you sign back into the same account.
To delete your Mine account, open Messages → profile menu → Delete Account and confirm. If you use Sign in with Apple, you may be asked to confirm with Apple so its authorization can be revoked.
Account deletion removes your Mine account and associated account data, your messages, your uploaded shared media, and references to that media in forwarded messages within Mine. Other participants’ own messages in surviving group conversations can remain. Deletion does not delete photos or videos from your Apple Photos library, or remove screenshots and copies that other people have already saved or downloaded.
Deletion is complete when Mine confirms it. If a connection or service problem prevents completion, the app reports the failure and you can retry. Contact us if deletion continues to fail.
Operational logs, support correspondence, and provider-managed backups can have separate retention periods from live account data. We retain such information only for the operational, support, security, or legal purposes for which it is needed, subject to applicable provider retention schedules and legal requirements. Contact us for information about retained data or to make a deletion request.
Your choices and privacy rights
You can:
- Allow selected photos or your full library, or revoke access, through iOS Settings.
- Enable or disable notifications through iOS Settings and control whether notification previews are displayed.
- Allow camera access when using Mine’s invitation-code scanner. Mine does not upload the scanner’s camera feed as shared media.
- Choose whether to share a memory, use a public sharing link, or permit Mine’s resharing functionality.
- Report content, block people, and manage blocked people through Mine’s controls.
- Edit your display name or delete your sharing account in the app.
- Contact us to request access to, correction of, a copy of, or deletion of personal information we hold about you.
Depending on where you live, you may also have rights to object to or restrict certain processing, withdraw consent, and complain to a data-protection authority. Withdrawing consent does not change the lawfulness of processing that occurred before withdrawal. We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling a request.
Where data-protection law requires a legal basis, we process information to provide the service you request, with your consent where required, for legitimate interests such as service security and responding to abuse, or to meet legal obligations, as applicable.
Changes and contact
We will update this policy when our practices change and revise the date above. Where required, we will provide additional notice or obtain consent before a material change takes effect.
